Rahul Shukla

Born: 28th August 1990, Padia, Bihar, India
Batting: Right-hand batsman
Bowling: Right-arm fast-medium
Rahul Shukla is another product of Jharkhand's vast pool of talented young cricketers. A lanky medium-fast bowler, he made a terrific start to his domestic cricket career only recently.
In 2008, Shukla was one of the 10-odd emerging seamers from the country who were selected for a three-week training camp at the MRF Pace Foundation, under the tutelage of Dennis Lillie. He has been hailed as the fastest medium-pacer from Jharkhand and was selected for the regional selection trails organised by Gatorade Pacers in New Delhi in January 2008. He would go on to hone his skills during that camp in the presence of Lillie and TA Sekhar, Director of Cricket for the Mumbai Indians.
Shukla was picked in the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) team for the Emerging Players Tournament in Queensland last year. The 19-year old was involved in top-class competitive cricket with and against some of the finest young cricketers in the world.
In four Ranji Trophy matches in the 2009-10 season, Shukla scalped 11 wickets with one five-wicket haul to his credit. He performed well in the Mushtaq Ali and Vijay Hazare tournaments as well. Shukla picked up figures of 4-27 against Orissa during his Twenty20 debut late last year.
Shukla joins the IPL this season to bowl alongside world-class fast bowlers like Zaheer Khan and Lasith Malinga.
